NFTS = speculation+value🤖
NFTs have become a buzz word in recent times so you must have heard of it somehow. Well, if you haven't, they are digital items that can be purchased and traded using blockchain technology. While the current hype of NFTs is largely around digital arts, an NFT can be anything digital — be it music, images, videos, cards, documents, et cetera. People can "Tokenize" these items by producing a digital certificate of ownership that can be bought and traded as NFTs.
Presently, Africans are becoming more interested in NFTs, and they are flooding the space for speculative reasons. Last week, we asked in a poll what the most important use case for NFTS could be. The majority of our audience voted arts. However, Africans can do more with NFTs than flipping digital arts for quick profits.
Join us on Thursday, May 19th, 2022, to discuss the possibilities of NFTs for Africans beyond speculation. Speakers for this space are Abieyuwa, disciplinary Artist and curator; Jay Shapiro, CEO, Pan African Gaming Group (PAGG); Chris Malize, NFTs and Web3 community builder, Delz Erinle, co-founder, Thrill Dao.
