There is a shadow pandemic in town 🆘
Did you know that one in three women worldwide experience physical or sexual violence mostly by an intimate partner?
Data from UN Women estimated 736 million women are being subjected to intimate partner violence, non-partner sexual violence, or both at least once in their life with 30% of these women aged 15 and older.
This is the ‘Shadow Pandemic,’ an alarming state of increased violence against women, as well as an increased risk of child marriage which is prevalent in Sub-Saharan Africa - at least more than one in three women, aged 20-24 years, get married before the age of 18.
In this webinar series hosted by Oando Plc on ‘COVID-19: Vaccinating the Shadow Pandemic,’ speakers will discuss best practices, and learnings from experience tackling Sexual and Gender-Based Violence (SGBV) in local communities, regional, and national policy spaces.
