Who will be crowned Africa's 'strongest' economy?
Hello Venturer,
I imagine you must be familiar with the topic of diversification, especially in terms of securing Africa's future. Now, with the pandemic and other ongoing concerns, it has become even more evident that some of the region's largest economies like Nigeria and South Africa may record slower recovery. Some of the reasons for this include factors like mounting debt levels and dependence on oil revenue.
The good news, however, is that while more diversified economies like Kenya are expected to recover faster, foreign direct investments will also play a vital role in easing up uncertainty.
So far, countries like Ghana have seen an uptick in foreign direct investment into its medical infrastructures. It has also been reported that Kenya is the top destination in Africa for Japanese investors.
It's literally a battle for which economies rebound faster, and we're here for it!
