Africa is rapidly evolving in terms of population, economy, and global relevance. Major debates regarding the continent’s digital economy are centred on how quickly it is expanding and how much growth is required. But as the continent gets more wealthy and accelerates digitally, an increase in cyber crimes threatens economic growth.Although cybercrime is threatening businesses globally, African companies are the most endangered. The continent is relatively limited in terms of communication infrastructure but with the increase in the penetration of technology, it is increasingly becoming a target for cybercriminals due to poor governmental commitment to cybersecurity.
